How To - Service Your Outboard Engine Video

Come the end of your boating season you will want to service your outboard engine in order to maintain it in the best possible condition and to ensure reliability for the next season.  Although not all engines are the same, with different numbers of cylinders, catches, latches, water cooled / air cooled or 2 stroke / 4 stroke, there is a common set of tasks to be performed.  The video is designed to help you understand how to perform these common tasks and the accompanying checklist has been produced to act as a reminder for you to take away from the computer.

At all times you should ensure that you handle the engine safely and take adequate precautions.  Always refer to the manufactures manual and be aware that any work that you perform on your own equipment may invalidate any guarantees that you may have.

One useful idea that we had was to use an empty wheeely bin to wash the engine.
